Project Description

Libraries

Books are collected, sorted and processed for shipping to Africa.  Although most of the books are donated, books have to be purchased to fill in any unfinished category.

New pocket cards and labels make the library books look new.  Bookends and posters brighten up the library.

Books for an African library are shipped from the U.S. by sea and land in 20’ containers.

Locally manufactured book shelves make the library professional looking and inviting.

Each library is equipped with tables and chairs crafted by local craftsman for the children to sit and read or do research.

Listen to Emma, a Uganda student as he describes how having a library at his school impacted his education.  Click on the photo of Emma.

For many student’s homes, what extra money is left at the end of the month won’t go toward books.
